The Bank will notify you of the termination of your current credit card contract in a letter of termination sent on 30 July 2021. Therefore, we would like to ask you to conclude a contract for your new K&H Mastercard World Elite credit card with your Private Banking advisor as soon as possible. If you do not wish to re-contract, your current Visa Classic or K&H World Mastercard credit card will expire at the end of the notice period, and you will no longer be able to use it.

As the holder of this card, you will be entitled to exclusive services in many parts of the world, and your safety will be ensured by a wide range of inclusive assistance services and insurance cover.

what do I need in order to recontract?

what do I need to do if I have a credit card that will be phased out?
Your Private Banker will contact you by phone to tell you about the new offer and agree an appointment with you to discuss recontracting. Should we be unable to reach you by phone, we will let you know about all required actions by email or in a regular letter.
what will I need for recontracting?
You will need your personal documents (it is important to note that if you also have a joint card on the account, you will be able to recontract only together with the joint card holder, and their documents will also be needed). If your Private Banker has already contacted you with the K&H Mastercard World Elite offer, then no additional documents will be required, as the income credited to your account held with our bank will entitle you to apply for this card. If your regular income is not credited to an account held with our bank, then a certificate issued by the tax authority (NAV) will be required if you are a business, while all other customers will need to present us three months of bank account statements or proof of income from their employer.
what to do if I have a joint card?
In this case, recontracting will need to take place in person, in a meeting with the Private Banker where both the account holder and the joint cardholder are present.
what will happen to my credit line?
In line with the current list of conditions, the K&H Mastercard World Elite card requires a credit line of at least HUF 300,000. If you already have a credit line of more than HUF 300,000 before recontracting, it will not be necessary to increase your credit line, only to amend your contract. However, if your credit line does not reach HUF 300,000 prior to recontracting, the credit line will also need to be increased prior to the amendment of the agreement.
how much is the annual fee of the new card, and how will it be debited?
For Private Banking Plus customers, the K&H Mastercard World Elite card is free of annual card fees, while Private Banking customers can access the card for an annual card fee of HUF 25,000. The annual fee for the new card will be debited after activation, while the proportional part of the previous card's annual fee will be reimbursed.
can I choose between the new card types?
Based on their banking habits, our Private Banking and Private Banking Plus customers are recommended the K&H Mastercard World Elite credit card.
how can I activate my new credit card?
- in K&H mobile bank, select bank cards and click the ‘activation’ button. If you are not yet a K&H mobile bank user, please download it now, and log on with a few clicks:
- in K&H e-bank, under ‘cards and accounts’, clicking on the ‘activation’ button.
- with the help of your Private Banking advisor.
It is important to note that the card cannot be activated through a purchase transaction.
can I activate the card in a digital and contactless manner?
Yes, via K&H e-bank or K&H mobile bank.
will the new card automatically appear in K&H mobile bank, or will I need to add it manually?
It will appear automatically; however, you will only be able to digitalise it after the receiving and activating the physical card.
when and how will I receive my new card?
If you are a Private Banking customer, you will receive your new card in the post, within a maximum of 15 days following the amendment of your agreement. If you are a Private Banking Plus customer, you can, during the card application process, ask for the card to be delivered in person by your Private Banking advisor, either to your home or your office.
how long will my previous card work?
You can use your previous credit card without interruption until the new card arrives. Once you activate the new card, the old card will automatically expire, and you do not need to block it. However, it is recommended that you destroy it. Please try and complete the contract amendment as soon as possible after the first notification, but no later than by 30 October 2021, because the credit card agreement will be terminated on this date at the latest.
what to do if I have completed all the actions required for recontracting, but my card has not arrived?
Private Banking customers will receive their card by regular mail within 15 days of recontracting.
Private Banking Plus customers will be delivered their card by regular mail within 15 days of recontracting or in person by their Private Banking Plus banker, at a pre-arranged time.
If this time has passed and you have not yet received your new Mastercard credit card, we recommend that you contact your Private Banker by phone for information on the status of the card and any action required.
will my PIN code or other settings linked to the card change?
The available credit line, the conditions of the credit moratorium, the account number linked to the credit card and the billing period will all remain the same, while all other settings (e.g. PIN code, password used for online shopping and card limits) will need to be changed.
what will happen to my balance?
It will not be necessary to repay your current balance prior to the amendment of the agreement.
what document will I need if I wish to increase my credit line?
If you have regular income that is credited to a bank account held with the bank, and its amount is sufficient for the prevailing minimum credit limit of the K&H Mastercard World Elite credit card, no proof of income is required. If you do not receive enough regular income, businesses will need to present to us a certificate issued by the tax authority (NAV), while all other customers will require three months of account statements or proof of income from their employer. We recommend that you always consult with your Private Banker as to which documents you will need to present.
will I still be entitled to a cash refund?
With the new K&H Mastercard World Elite card, you will be entitled to a wide range of premium services, such as access to airport lounges, Fast Track lanes, Boingo global Wi-Fi services, unlimited use of the PressReader application, travel insurance and assistance services, instead of refunds on your purchases.
what additional action will I need to take after the activation of the new credit card?
As the card number will change, you will need to re-register the card on Internet sites for recurring transactions. You will also need to digitalise your new card in ApplePay or Google Pay.
