K&H MediMagic donations in the past 15 years:

2019

In 2019, we announced our K&H MediMagic equipment grant competition for the sixteenth time and received a total of 77 applications from paediatric institutions. In this year’s competition, primary care paediatricians as well as general practitioners serving both adults and children could apply for the grant, since making an exact diagnosis quickly is essential also in the consulting room. The professional jury selected 13 winners, who were awarded a total amount of 20 million forints in equipment grant.

The K&H MediMagic regional competition was announced for the third time. We invited applications from hospitals, ambulance stations and paediatric general practices across Hungary that wished to promote children’s recovery with a nicer environment or more modern equipment. Once again, the K&H MediMagic regional competition confirmed to us that child health care is a top priority for many: in just two months more than 80,000 people voted nationwide, online or in our local bank branches.

Many of our colleagues once again offered 1% of their personal income tax, payable for the year 2017, to K&H MediMagic. The money was used to buy new devices and more modern equipment for the Mezőkövesd Ambulance Unit and for Dr. Bugyi István Hospital of Szentes. Our employees also donated the Company’s Christmas dinner contributions to the programme, which we used to support the Hospital of Mohács.

Our media sales partner, Atmedia, joined K&H MediMagic for the fourth time.  Their donation was turned to buy various supplies, including toiletries, blood-test equipment and nappies for Vaszary Kolos Hospital in Esztergom.

2018

In 2018, we announced our K&H MediMagic equipment grant competition for the fifteenth time and received a total of 88 applications. Last year, we focussed on institutions applying for equipment used in the treatment of the 4-to-7-year-olds. The professional jury selected fourteen winners, who were awarded a total amount of 20 million forints in equipment funding.

On the fifteenth anniversary of the programme, we decided to celebrate with something really special: something that not only helps health care institutions become better-equipped, but also lends faith and hope to the children who struggle with ailments and the parents who support them.

2015

We announced the MediMagic funding programme for the twelfth time and received 69 applications. In 2015, we chose child gastroenterology and neurology to focus our efforts on. The jury of health-care professionals elected thirteen winners from across the country, to be awarded medical equipment funding of a total amount of 20 million forints.

In 2015, many of our colleagues at K&H donated 1 per cent of their personal income tax payable for 2014 to the MediMagic programme once again. This time, the ambulance unit of Kisvárda received equipment indispensable to their daily activities related to child emergency services. At the end of the year, a further 440 of our employees decided to contribute their K&H Christmas party allowances to the programme.

For the twelfth time, K&H made the decision to offer to child health care institutions our gifts allocation for clients and business partners: the money was used to buy equipment for two hospitals and an ambulance station.

Advancement in child health care is important for K&H: it is a cause supported by our employees and customers alike, in all areas of our Group’s activities. K&H’s Private Banking Directorate and their clients have, therefore, also made financial contributions to K&H MediMagic.

One of our SME partners, Gravoform, is similarly committed to supporting noble causes. They offered medical devices to the Hospital of Kiskunfélegyháza under the auspices of K&H MediMagic.

Our partners donated not only money but books and toys as well to help the children recover faster. In 2015, Atmedia’s donations went to Almási Balogh Pál Hospital in Ózd and Alexandra bookstores’ to Szent László Hospital in Budapest.

2014

In the eleventh round of our nationwide paediatric health care programme we received a total number of 102 applications for funding. In 2014, we focussed on support for child emergency services. Embraced by a great number of our colleagues and clients, the programme donated more than 38 million forints to 18 hospitals and 13 ambulance stations.

Our partners donated not only money but books and toys as well to help the children recover faster. In 2014, Budapest Sportiroda’s and Atmedia’s donations went to Paediatrics Clinic I of Semmelweis University and to Almási Balogh Pál Hospital in Ózd, respectively.

2011

In 2011, support for paediatric ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology came in the focus of attention, with twelve hospitals and eight ambulance units receiving paediatric health care equipment worth a total amount of more than 35 million forints.
In May 2011, we donated 900 footballs to three institutions providing physical therapy to children with motor disabilities developed on account of having been born prematurely, having been injured in the course of delivery or having suffered damage to their central nervous system.
In the same year, we also announced an extensive invitation to collect books and toys in fifty members of our nationwide branch network. Thanks to this special initiative, by October we had gathered some 5,000 toys and about 2,000 books – enough to fill 135 crates – and went on to present them to children’s wards and outpatient clinics.

In 2010, paediatric institutions providing pulmonology and traumatology care – including children’s wards and outpatient clinics – were given priority in our funding programme.

In 2009, we donated equipment worth a total amount of 51 million forints to 15 hospitals and 6 ambulance stations nationwide.
In the same year, the National Ambulance Service received group support as well: we equipped 80 of their vehicles with systems designed to ensure the safe transportation of children.
We also collected some 1,400 books and toys for the little inpatients of ten hospitals.

The K&H MediMagic programme was started. In the first year of the programme, we donated medical equipment worth more than 33 million forints to 7 children’s wards.
We have considered children’s psychological health very important right from the beginning. This conviction of ours, and a determination to bring a smile to the faces of children, led to the organization of entertaining programmes for kids at 15 hospitals nationwide.
