K&H e-bank with chip-card identification FAQ


Which operating systems and browsers are supported by the K&H chip-card e-bank application?

 

The following operating systems and browsers are supported:

 

  • Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT, XP

  • Internet Explorer 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 (128 bit SSL)

  • Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher. Note: see “K&H e-bank in Firefox”


Windows 3.1 / Macintosh / Linux are not supported.

If you use an unsupported operating system and/or browser please use e-bank with SMS identification.

I have a chip-card. Can I still use e-bank with SMS identification?

 

Yes you can.


For SMS identification you will need the following:

 

  • An e-bank account
  • An active ePIN code

it can be specified in any branch or in e-bank (“SMS e-bank settings, ePIN specification”)


  • A valid phone number

 

you can specify one in any branch or in e-bank (retail and trambulin customers: “Client data”, business customers: “SMS e-bank settings, ePIN specification”


  • SMS e-bank must be activated in the e-bank service

 

(“SMS e-bank settings, ePIN specification”)

For SMS identification you will need to give your K&H eID and ePIN

This way you will be able to use e-bank with both chip-card and SMS identification

If you made your retail/trambulin e-bank account before 18 September, 2009 SMS identification needs to be activated; with accounts made after 18 September, 2009 SMS identification is activated by default and you need to deactivate it is you don’t want to use it.

 

I received one of the following messages when attempted to enter e-bank with chip-card identification:

What shall I do?

Carry out step 3 of “K&H e-bank installation”.

    - If the application is already installed on your computer, please remove it! (Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add or remove programs


If the error persists try the following settings:

Browser - Tools - Internet options

    - 'General' tab - Delete cookies and files (all)
    - 'Security' tab - Medium
    - 'Security' tab - Custom level - allow the download/installation/use of ActiveX controls
    - 'Privacy' tab - Medium

Restart the browser

Carry out step 3 of “K&H e-bank installation” again.

    * If the application is already installed on your computer please remove it! (Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add or remove programs).

2. Cannot find Card access dll - Mozilla Firefox

What shall I do?

If you use Mozilla Firefox 3 install the K&H e-bank plugin.

3. Card read error!

If you have just received your card

Cards manufactured after July, 2007 are equipped with a new chip, which requires a new version of e-bank. K&H e-bank 2.1.4 is compatible with both the old and the new chips.

What shall I do?


Carry out step 3 of “K&H e-bank installation”.

    - If the application is already installed on your computer please remove it! (Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add or remove programs).

The following settings are also recommended:

Browser - Tools - Internet options

    - 'General' tab - Delete cookies and files (all)
    - 'Security' tab - Medium
    - 'Security' tab - Custom level - allow the download/installation/use of ActiveX controls
    - 'Privacy' tab - Medium

Restart the browser

If you have used your card before

Check the browser settings listed in “If you have just received you card” plus open Device Manager

    - Right click on My Computer - Select Properties


If you see a yellow exclamation mark besides Smartcard then

    - Right click Smartcard - Update driver - Custom installation for advanced users (select folder C:\Omnikey).


Restart your computer.

4. Your card cannot be recognised by the system!

What shall I do?

Check the expiry date of the card on its front (month/year). If it has expired please call in the branch where you received it and you will be given a new one.

If the card has not expired then there might be a problem with the card’s status. Check with any branch.

Just to be sure carry out the following:
Browser - Tools - Internet options

    - 'General' tab - Delete cookies and files (all)

5. This card cannot be used in this system!

What shall I do?

Go to website http:// ebank.khb.hu and check whether you entered the proper e-bank application.
Options: retail, trambulin, business.

6. Error in client status!

The most probable cause is that your card has been switched into a status (e.g. Blocked) that renders it unusable.

Check the problem with any branch or call K&H TeleCenter if you have a 6-digit ePIN code.
